I bought the generator & street lamp “scene”. When belted to a Wilesco “D-10” steam engine the unit performed very nicely with a bright lamp. Question: what is the lamp voltage? Thanks.

This kit is incredibly well machined and has great tolerances. I highly recommend this kit to anyone. However, sadly there would appear to be a flaw in the design of the steam delivery pipe and the governor valve body. They both seem to lose too much heat to the outside environment cause the steam to condense before reaching the cylinder. This means that there is then no longer enough pressure to run the engine. I know it is not a timing issue or a binding issue as the engine purrs like a kitten on air. Hopefully by swapping to an insulated copper pipe and adding seals to the governor valve, this gorgeous engine will finally run under her own power!

Once again though, I STILL DO recommend this kit to anyone!

This is a cool little engine. I was planning to machine this design from scratch before I saw a demo of this model online. I decided to order out instead. I am super satisfied with the purchase. I had out assembled and running in about an hour. The parts are machined far better than I could do myself.
