History: For enthusiasts of power machinery, the year 1903 is unforgettable. It marked the Wright brothers' first flight and the founding of many renowned automotive brands. However, for fervent American motorcycle enthusiasts, the birth of Harley-Davidson in that same year held particular significance. From then on, it led freedom-loving riders on a journey spanning over a century.

Harley-Davidson was born in 1903 on the shores of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. The first motorcycle produced in 1905 featured a single-cylinder air-cooled engine with a displacement of approximately 400cc. Yet, Harley's true legend began with their V-Twin design. From 1909 to the present day, the sound of the V-Twin engine has resonated throughout an entire century.

Since its inception, Harley has weathered various storms: World War I, the 1920s, the Great Depression, World War II, reputation challenges, restructuring, and revival, giving birth to the Fat Boy, expanding internationally, challenges with police patrol models, the 2007 strike, and the financial crisis. Nevertheless, it has remained a prominent brand in the eyes of power machinery enthusiasts worldwide, embodying passion, freedom, and enthusiasm. It's an icon for rock music lovers of the 1960s, a spokesperson for the "peace and love" era, and a pioneer of street-customized motorcycles with dual exhaust pipes and engines exceeding 1000cc.

.Prototype Introduction:
The Milwaukee-Eight engine is the company's ninth-generation "Big Twin" engine, but it is only the fourth entirely new Big Twin introduced by Harley in 80 years, first debuting in 2016. These engines differ from traditional Big Twin engines as each cylinder boasts four valves, totaling eight, hence its name. Moreover, it signifies a return to the single camshaft configuration used on Harley Big Twin engines from 1936 to 1999. All these engines feature internal balancers, with dual camshafts balancing only Softail models, and the engine is rigidly mounted on Softail models.

.Reception:
Cycle World, like many other motorcycle magazines, was given the opportunity to test ride and review the Milwaukee-Eight engine. The reviews have been positive, and report a better ride quality. Cycle World's reviewer reported a noticeable reduction in the heat output from the engine, enabling the reviewer to ride more comfortably. The review concludes that the changes make this engine an improvement over its predecessor.

Challenging but Fun!!

I enjoyed working on this project quite a bit. The directions are more challenging to follow/less detailed than typical "LEGO" brand but if you've built other block creations before, you can probably figure this one out. I did notice towards the end the directions became even more vague and you had to look ahead towards the next step (or two) to understand what exactly you were supposed to do for the step you were currently working on.

First major difference from LEGO is that the very first instruction is to open all bags. You will need pieces from various different bags throughout the entire build so unfortunately (or fortunately if you like the challenge of finding pieces) you can't use "Bag 1 for steps 1-30, Bag 2 for steps 31-60, etc.). I used Tupperware to keep the parts somewhat sorted and quickly caught on to where I should expect to find a particular component.

Most of the 'x' sticks that need to go through the gears and wheels are VERY tight. I ended up bending a few of the sticks trying to force them through.

There were other areas where the fitment was so loose that I ended up using super glue to ensure the pieces would stay together.

Spark plug assembly was arguably the most challenging piece of the puzzle because the components simply would not fit together. I wound up drilling out some of the small light grey connectors to allow them to slide down the white cylinders.

Also, I was unable to get the pushrods to connect (they didn't seem long enough) so when I first cranked up the motor the rods moved a few other components out of the way and ultimately ended up falling off. I do not currently have them connected which is a bummer.

Overall, happy with the purchase but wish the fitment was a little more precise (I can get over the directions criticism).

Tough

Separating pieces is only the beginning of the fun. Having pictures are fine for directions with me that being said I needed a maginfineglass to figure some of the steps out and what piece to use. Haven't finished but already rebuild the thing once. Sliding out pistons and started loctiteing everything i could. Missing a couple of pieces but all and all pretty cool. AND NOT A HARLEY GUY. Will be putting a piece of cardboard underneath with a oil stain on it to make it real authentic
